{"id":25,"date":"2024-10-07T17:52:39","date_gmt":"2024-10-07T17:52:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beaverski.click\/?page_id=25"},"modified":"2025-01-12T11:51:26","modified_gmt":"2025-01-12T15:51:26","slug":"history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/skibeaver.ca\/en\/history\/","title":{"rendered":"History"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The club started around 1987 when Roger, Yvette LeBlanc and Alonzo, Yvonisse Bourque started making trails in St-Marcel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1994, with the increased interest of skiers, the operations were\u00a0formalized with the\u00a0incorporation under the present name of\u00a0<strong>Club de Ski de Fond Beaver Inc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"815\" height=\"347\" src=\"http:\/\/beaverski.click\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/1421788717-min.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-304\" srcset=\"https:\/\/skibeaver.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/1421788717-min.png 815w, https:\/\/skibeaver.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/1421788717-min-300x128.png 300w, https:\/\/skibeaver.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/1421788717-min-768x327.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 815px) 100vw, 815px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201ccamp\u201d was built shortly after the start of operations. Around 1992, an extension was added to the \u201ccamp\u201d making it what it is at present. The Club was also known for its active social life including music, card games, dances, New Year\u2019s Eve parties and poker runs. These activities have diminished somewhat in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>It is important to note that the club was built and continues to operate thanks to the volunteer work of its members for the construction of trails and the camp as well as annual upkeep and trail maintenance during the ski season. It maintains its reputation as one of the nicest cross country skiing facilities in the area. It was built and operates with a minimum of outside financial support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>It is important to remember that the trails cross many private properties and without the cooperation of those property owners, the Club would not exist.
